Zebra Tracking Tech on it's way to the NFL Combine

Zebra Technology looks to start at the combine in the next year.  It is used as simulator that can test a player's ability to react in a simulation.  The Air Force currently uses this technology to train their pilots, so Sean Payton of the New Orleans Saints thinks this a way to train quarterbacks.  Zebra can be more helpful when looking at something like the 40 yard dash because it can track acceleration speed at certain points of the dash.  This technology will be able to give coaches and scouts a better way to see the physical performances in athletes.  Zebra also looks to expand past the combine and into all NFL stadiums and major broadcasters of the NFL.

I believe this new technology will be the next biggest thing in tracking and testing players.  It will give scouts more information on certain players and will be able to use these tests to determine how athletes will react in different situations.

  1. I find this to be a really cool invention that will come to the NFL. I agree that it'll give you a more in depth approach on someone's 40 yard dash seeing how fast they are at the beginning which is key for receivers trying to beat cornerbacks and how fast they are at full sprint which is key for kickoff return specialists.

  2. I think this is a very interesting investment into the NFL. It will certainly help more to keep track of who can do what and how well each player can do a certain event such as the 40 yard dash as you mentioned. It will make it easier of keeping track also and help coaches decide who deserves what position based on their results.

  3. The more information for coaches and scouts, the better. This technology will help improve the players' speed and help coaches to see what each player needs to improve in their form to become great.
